Ah Mah has Left us...

Well, I hope u are not "pan dang" when you are reading this... If you are, then I would recommend that you navigate away from this post then...

My Ah Mah has just left us last Friday morning. I only knew abt her pass-away in the afternoon though.... Anyway, she has reached her 101 years of age and it was considered a blessing, according to the Chinese custom.

As our family is very traditional, the funeral went according to the very Chinese way:
-- The funeral at void deck
-- All family members to wear white top and colour-coded pants (Black for sons/daughter of Ah Mah, Blue for Ah Mah's grandchildren and green for great-grandchildren)
-- Engaging monks and some buddhists to chant prayers for Ah Mah
-- The usual folding of "gold-papers" to burn for Ah Mah to use in the other world
-- Burning of big house, with maids, cars, money for Ah Mah...
-- Engaging a live band for the procession
-- Walking bare-footed (actually all of us wore socks only) for a distance before proceeding to crematorium

Anyway here's some picture for remembrance...

The altar was set up in the void deck....A band was engaged to create "noise", which was a must... According to the Chinese tradition, the procession must be lively with loud music so as to appear grand....

During the last day, just before the procession, we decorated the coffin with flowers....

And then we proceed to the crematorium....

I wasn't expecting this, but it really caught me by surprise! There's a viewing gallery inside the crematorium. All of us were suppose to witness the "burning" of my Ah Mah, which proved to be traumatising to some of the younger children.

What amazed me was, everything was AUTOMATED!

The coffin was placed on a machine, along a "track". See the black lines on the floor? These are tracks for the machine to move.
Then, slowly, in front of all our eyes, the coffin was slowly transported towards the end, whereby (I donno what's the term) the "oven" awaits....

The metal cage opened slowly and I saw the FIRE! Sparks of fire and flashes appeared and the coffin was lifted slowly towards the fire...

At this moment, most of the members were crying very loudly. It is actually very traumatising to see your loved-ones being lifted slowly and pushed towards FIRE... Quite scary sia....

Anyway, that's the end of everything... The altar plates were then transported to "Guan Ming Shan" aka "Bright Hill Temple"....

Well, actually for the 5-day funeral, I barely remember much as I wasn't very involved. Anyway, I am happy for my Ah Mah, as she is on her way to heaven , having lived a ripe old age, without much pain.... I hope she will be happier in wherever she would be in now....

KATSUNORI!! I simply cannot resist him!! He's so cute and so charming!!!

Since young, I loved to watch his drama and his acting was simply good! Basically I am drooling over him whenever he appeared in any series...
ahahah!!! Well, can't blame me wo... He is really a charming guy... A good actor and singer... Although he's alreadty 43 years old this year, he is still forever so charming lor... And I have always love guys that are older.. Haha!!! See his wrinkles?? So charming, right???

Omg, think am really crazy over him...

Sigh, how I wish I got such a bf leh.... Hahhaaaa!!!

Phantom of the Opera

Finally, I have watched THE phantom liao wor!!! Hahah!! I have heard abt this play since young (not tat I very the old now lah), but have no chance to watch it lor... I din even know anything abt the story lor...

And after the play, I was still feeling excited. I thought the play was quite fascinating lor. I simply loved the stage props and the special staging effects, like the boatie, the bridge, etc... I thought it was brilliant lor..

But then hor, according to my boss, this play was SUPER Lousy lor...

WHAT??? Like dat also consider lousy meh? That means the "real" play was so much better liao lor... He watched it when he was in London (I not so rich lor!)... He commented that this troupe was not good at all and it was a waste to watch it (damn it!! He totally spoilt my feelings lor!!)...

Ok ok, since this is my one and only time watching this play, I personally think it was good lor.Cos I got no comparison mah...

A "suay" cab driver

It was about 12.25am on a Friday night and I just stepped out of office.... Finally flagged a cab and was about to go home, when..... something drama happened!!!

Our cab was stopped by a Traffic Police!! I got a shocked when a Traffic Police pull up beside our cab and signal my cab driver to stop his car. I was totally puzzled!

What had happened by the way???

Orh.... It seemed like the Police "claimed" that my cab driver had beat the red light!

Got meh??? How come I wasn't aware??? Anyway the story was: The Traffic police was riding besides my cab when the traffic light turned AMBER. My cab driver, seeing the amber light, hit his accelerator and passed the light while all the other cars (including the Traffic police) stopped at the AMBER light.

Thus, the Traffic police si bei "buay-song", so he rid up to my cab and claimed that he beat the red light.



My cab driver was frantically trying to explain that he did not beat the red light. He passed the light cos it was AMBER, and it was legal to pass the AMBER light mah!!!
Well, you know... It is almost impossible to argue with the Traffic Police lor.... So...

My suay cab driver got 12 points deducted and had to pay a S$200 FINE... Poor cab driver...


And my cab fare for the night : S$9.30..... (Poor him... He still had to fork out another S$191.70 more)

A good night out!!!

So it was my good fren Lilian's birthday... Finally tat woman now same age as me liao!!!! WAHHHAAA!!!!


Anyway, I decided to treat her to a super-good Japanese restaurant for a nice hot meal. This restaurant, Tonkichi is our favourite wor! Cos both of us don't like raw food, and super like FRIED food (YUMMY ~~~)!!! Tonkichi is famous for its fried food!!! Must TRY wor!!!

Good si bo!!!

After a filling and sinful meal, we decided to go for movie to have a good laugh. My korkor Gav told me that "200 pounds Beauty" was a hit and a "Must Watch", so both of us decided on this movie liao!!! Anyway, I got FREE ticket mah, got nothing to lose wor!!

We went for the 3.25pm show and the show was definitely Hilarious!!!! WHAHHHAAA!!! Damn funny lor.... How I wish can be like the lead actress!! Yahhaa!!!

After movie, Lian got a call from her friend and was jio-ed to go Sentosa.

SENTOSA!!???!! Machiam like very FAR lor!! I was hesistant and had actually decided not to go and rather nuah at home... And I can watch "Er-zhuo-ju zhi wen" VCD -- or Literal translation = Prankster kiss or "It started with a KISS". A taiwanese idol drama series lah... This set of VCD was lend to me by Minyee.. Paiseh, she lent me this VCD set for more than 3weeks liao, but i haven't watched yet wor... Hahah!

Anyway, I finally decided to buck-up and not be so NUAH liao!! So I decided to go with Lian to SENTOSA!!! Yahahaha!!!!

We decided to walk from Orchard to Dhoby Ghaut station to take NEL to Harbourfront... Along the way, we SAW LOTS OF MOO-MOOs!!!

Donno why these MOO-MOOs were there... But since they are SOOO cute, we just took some pictures lor...

Anyway, finally we reached Dhoby Ghaut station and took a train to Harbourfront station....

Such an eye-opener wor!!! Honestly, I have not taken the new monorail yet lor and feel like a tourist wor!!! It was soo very convenient de le!!! Just need to buy a ticket at S$3 for a round trip at Vivocity 3rd level and then board the monorail and TaDAH!!! Will reach in split seconds de wor!!!

Haha, like sibei sua-ku wor... Never see monorail before like dat!!! YAHAHAH!!!!

Me too lah!!! And the monorail started to move liao, so this picture looked "blurred" lor!!

Anyway, we reached the Beach Station in a flash wor and was shocked to see so many people de le!!! Its a Sunday night leh, and still so many people de!!! We found Lian's fren and we just missed the 740pm show. So the next one (which is also the last one) will be at 840pm. See the free ticket? So good wor!!! Think it cost abt S$6 per ticket for a 20 min show...

Well, we still got abt 40mins before the next show, so we decided to walk to the "palace-lookalike" place....

Er... nothing much though... It's just a place for kids to play and for couples to walk walk lor... No big deal lah.... Got a few "gardens" but were closed liao....

Well....

Finally, we made our way to the show.. This show was called "Songs of the Sea"... See the long queue at the entrance???

I was one of them wor!!! HAHAH!!!

We got in and chiong to the front seats!!! The place was too dark to take good pictures... Anyway, the show started in about 15 min time and the whole story revolved around a group of villagers....

They are trying hard to wake the sleeping Queen of the Sea by singing songs....

And after a few singings, she finally awakened!!!

In between, there are a few laser shows and some water features....

And pyrotechnics!!!



Anyway, altho the show was short, it was a good experience!!! Now we are not Sua-kus anymore!!!

Took a cute PURPLE monorail back to Harboufront....

It was abt 10pm liao... And it was a good day out wor!!!

Oh by the way, one of the main lead in the "Songs of the Sea" were this fish named "Oscar"! So cute si bo!!!!

I WENT FOR PLASTIC SURGERY...

Dad at Dialysis Centre....

Yup, it's my dad lah... He needs to go dialysis becos his kidneys had failed him... Well, I guess most of such things will happen when one gets old..

Anyway, that day I was free, so I dropped by the dialysis centre to pick my dad and mum...

Am curious to see how a dialysis centre look like and how the machine work.. .I always imagined it to be very hideous and scary...
But actually hor, it's no big deal la.
He's the last patient of the day, that's why I could take photos without anyone stopping me wor!!!
