My Sista's new home!! :)

Today my mummy 突然心血来潮, suggested that we visit our sister's new home!

It was a good idea since I haven't been to her new place. But I heard that it was fantastic, very good location and view. And since I didn't have much to do today (as usual), we decided to call her to visit her.

She lived around Hillview avenue, and it was easy to locate cos I frequent the Rail Mall quite often. I didn't know she lived just opposite!! :)

Her place was small and compact, but nice, cos due to the high ceiling (machiam like penthouse pattern wor!!!)... The place look great! I love it!!! :)

And it was 5pm, time for the kids to have swimming lessons... :)

And hor... hmmm... I think the kids have grown.... FATTER! HAHAH!! Good sign... Tat means they are adapting to the new environment very well. :)

My mummy wanted to capture a nice photo of the kids swimming, but difficult leh... They were both swimming at different directions and moving, thus no good photos... :(

And all of a sudden, my sista pointed up and we saw 2 monkeys!! hahahaha!!! We were just talking about monkeys a few moments ago, and now we see some!!! :)

And while we were leaving, the monkeys were leaving too. They were very agile! Within seconds, they were off that high-level place, and climbing down... :)

Am glad that we visited our sister cos my mummy missed the 2 kids... I have just saved the kids photos into a thumbdrive and she will go to the photo shop to get them printed out into proper photos so that she could put it into the photo frame at our living room...

Ramen Champion

It was the Presidential election day... I was meeting my ex-staff of HSBC to have ramen rendezvous at the Ramen Champion @ Illuma (Click here to access the link to Ramen Champion details).

I have been there once, and tried Bario cos this stall was highly recommended. But it was quite disappointing. Maybe I was used to spicy ramen and this stall only served miso and shoyu ramen. And the ramen was too oily. And the 豆芽 was way too much, machiam like eating Vietnamese food! Not very good, my opinion. But apparently this stall was the most popular cos it always has long queue.... hmmmm... wonder why....

This time round, I decided to try Gantetsu cos they have spicy ramen... And suay suay, when I ordered the food, think the chef didn't understand well and he gave me the normal miso ramen.. Once again... I didn't get to eat my spicy ramen... :(

Super disappointed... But anyway, this stall was not bad...

Yinmeng tried the ramen from Hakata... Tasted a bit strange though.. hmm...

Above is my ramen, from Gantetsu....

Eliz ordered the dry ramen from Tetsu, which specialised in dry ramen...

And the above buttered ramen for Eunice is from Gantetsu as well...

I think Miharu and Santouka are still my most fav ramen places... These 6 ramen stalls have not stirred up any of my interest at all!

My MBA thesis mate!

Thinking back.... It was just 2 months ago when we met at Scotts TCC to discuss our thesis chapters. At that time, I was very nervous as I was afraid that we might not complete on time. I was planning a week's holiday in early Aug and she got a re-test during that time as well. And at this moment, we are still about 60% done only... Thus, we decided to do as much as possible before Aug...

And now... it is nearly a month since we have submitted our thesis... I hope to score OK for this project... :)

Frienzie... a bar & bistro at Ulu Punggol...

Went to check out the prawning place at Punggol last Sunday, and 顺便 go try the restaurants over there. We saw some good hang out places there the previous time we went. (At that time, we went around midnight, so most of the places were closed)...

There are many places to eat there: 2 seafood chinese restaurants, Popeye's, Bar & Bistro place and a Japanese restaurant.

After browsing through these restaurants, at first we wanted to go Japanese restaurant cos I was craving for Japanese curry the previous day. But when we got to Frienzie, the Bar & Bistro cafe, I suddenly was craving for wine! so we decided to change and eat at Frienzie instead! 真的是酒鬼!哈哈!

At first we thought there was only one kind of wine, Wolfblass (Cos the menu only show that brand). But the staff told us that they were actually running a promotion for a NZ wine (Cannot rem the name now!). So we ordered that bottle to try... It tasted ok, not fantastic but easy to drink. Not bad!!!

As usual, I ordered my fav Fish & Chips, and got a shock when the serving came....

See how BIG the serving was?!?!?!? It was 2 times bigger than Mike's hand!!! hahahaha!!!

Mike ordered the Chef's specialty Chicken chop.... We expected the dish to be good since it is "Chef specialty" and highly recommended leh!

But....

It was too dry... Not that fantastic actually... :(

The place is nice and definitely a good place to hang out. But perhaps don't trust the Chef's specialty! :)

Mike's adventure with his punctured tyres

Poor Mike...

I cannot remember when this incident happened... I think it was sometime around May or June... I think we were having ramen dinner at MyVillage @Serangoon Gardens. Then, we decided to go for midnight movie... And as we have about an hour to spare, we decided to go play pool at middle road...

We calculated the time exactly! So when we left the pool place, we only have just barely 30min before the start of the show. And.... something suay happened.

小白 got a punctured tyre!!! The front right side.... hahahaha.... And he didn't have any spare one!

So we no choice had to drive to nearly roadside.... I actually thought that we should forgo the movie and go buy new tyre to change. But Mike decided to go ahead with the movie, and we managed to catch a cab to rush to NEX Shaw cinema just in time!! hahaha! We seriously thought we will be very late! :)

So after the movie, we walked to my house to get my car keys and we drove to pick up 小白's punctured tyre. With the tyre in my car boot, we drove to the tyre shop to buy a new one. We are soooo lucky cos that shop closed at 3am, and we reached at 250am! We were their last customer! hahaha!!!

We bought the tyre and drove back to 小白. And... Mike started the coolie job of changing the tyre, while i stand and watch... :)

And... as if not 凄惨 enough, suddenly we felt RAIN!

YES! IT started to RAIN HEAVILY!!! Hhahahaha!!! machiam like those Korean drama, torturing the lead actor... Poor Mike had to change his tyre at 330am under heavy rain!!! But he's lucky cos at least got me to hold umbrella over his head lor... heehee... :)

It was a long night... When he finally finished (half-drenched by now), it was around 4am...

And the next day, he went to buy all 4 new tyres for 小白... think he scared liao!!! hahaha!!!

Fashion Story

Hmmm... I have been playing Fashion Story lately... After my MBA, I felt quite bored actually... Maybe it was the "withdrawal syndrome" bah... Anyway, I went out Ramen-ing with my young ex-colleagues from HSBC and they told me that they were now all playing Fashion Story... Can just download from the apps store...

Ok lor, I need to 跟上潮流 mah, so I downloaded.. at first am not so sure how to play and basically I am too impatient to stare at the screen and buy clothes one at a time...

But after a while, I get the "hang" of it and started slowly building my own shop... hahaha... think at the rate im going, I'm gonna close shop real soon!!!

Anyway, I am not a game addict... I am just feeling bored recently...

Dinner & KTV with Sinwei and Mike again!

It has been more than 6 months since we last met... we met in late Feb this year for my surprise bd celebration at Ma Maison... See post here... It was such a pleasant surprise!! :)

So, now that i had finished my MBA, we decided to catch up again!

This time, we went to Tonkichi, my fav Japanese restaurant for the gathering. I was soooo shag and tired when I reached there, 35 mins late.. hahaha... Cos I last min had to go visit my boss who just gave birth to her 2nd daughter... But consider the heavy Friday traffic, I actually can reach Wheelock Place within 30 min from Tanah Merah! :)

Anyway, I was tooo tired and hungry and forgot to take photos of the food.. hahhaha.. :) Mike ordered 2 jugs of Asahi beer! I was shocked! Cos from experience (machiam like I am food guru! hahah), we can't drink much after Tonkichi meal... Tonkichi meal is always in huge portion, and all is FRIED stuff! Sure cannot finish the beer!

And sure enough, we not able to finish the beer... and since both me and Mike were driving, we decided not to drink too much and decided to go KTV!

Yes! We also went KTV-ing during our last round of gathering... Seem like this has become a standard procedure!! "food then KTV"! hahaha.. .

As Sinwei did not want to go too far, so at first I suggested Partyworld at International Building, which is just besides Isetan Scotts... But too bad, they were fully booked till mid-night... And since Cinderella (AKA Sinwei) needs to go back home by mid-night, Mike suggested to go K-suites at Orchard Parade instead... Actually all 3 of us have no idea where and what's that place... Mike only know that there is such a place at Orchard Parade... So Mike called the place to check (don't ask me why Mike has the number, cos he himself also donno!!!) ...

It was so funny... When Mike called K-suites to book a room for 3 person, the reception there replied that they will give us a "BED Suite"... hmmm... U mean the KTV room got bed?!?!?! HAHAHAHA!!! A room with a bed for the 3 of us??? Sound so... wrong!!! hahaha..

Anyway, we decided to drive Mike's car to Orchard Parade Hotel... Oh man, it was so strange.. Cos I really have no idea there was a KTV at Orchard Parade Hotel!!! So the 3 of us, blur blur gong gong drove there, and had to ask the hotel staff for directions...

And... We found the place!!!

Wow... It look.... EXPENSIVE! I'm sure it is expensive cos when we went into the room, sure enough, there is a BED! It was soooo cosy, machiam like a hotel room with KTV facilities... but rather cold...

See? Sinwei is all covered with blanket! It was quite cold inside actually... Lucky they provide blankets... so sweet! :) They also provide "Hotel-styled" slippers... They really wanna mock a hotel room concept!!!

And of cos, after fooling around with a few songs, we must recap on Sinwei's famous song that me and Mike were so impressed - Jay Chou's "双节棍"! It was in 2007 that we realized that Sinwei had the talent to rap Jay Chou's 双节棍very well! See my previous post here...

See how pro Sinwei was!!!!

She basically can rap throughout the whole song!!!!

Mike and I were so impressed!!!! hahahahah!!!!

And when the clock striked 12am... dong dong dong... the Cinderella need to leave... So long till our next gathering!!! :)

good wine... :)

Went out for a Ramen dinner with Mike and we decided to go for wine at one of his fav hangout place, The Wine Arcade (near his block...)

It was a drizzling day, cool and perfect for red wine... I used to drive pass this place before, but didn't really take any notice of this place... Never expect this place to be a wine wholesaler, and they have lots of nice wine.

Mike chose a bottle of wine, he requested for a full-bodied one... And oh boy, it was good! :)

The place was quite dark, so the pictures didn't turn out nice.. sigh... don't expect too much for a lousy iphone!!!

Anyway, there were 2 cats loitering around the place, of cos, i believe the owner of the wine feed the cats cos both of the cats were really fat!! hahahaha... guess they lived better life than us! laze around and always got good food.... :)

the lightings wasn't that great, but can u see the cat under Mike's bench? actually the cat was lazing happily at the other bench.. But Mike jio the cat to come near him and the cat actually did! Guess it liked Mike... So it actually came and lazed under his bench! :) So CUTE!!!

We had a great time and this was a good holiday break... I kept thinking today is "Saturday" cos it really seemed like a saturday to me... But too bad... tomorrow I had to go back to work already!!! *Sigh*

(A good Italian wine)

Good holidays!!!

I have never been to so many places within a week... But I did it!!!

Bukit Tinggi (1 night) - Genting/KL (1 night) - Bali (3 nights) - KL (2 nights) - HK (2 nights)

All 5 places within 10 days!!! LOL.... Basically on average each place only stay for 1-3 nights! hahahaha!!!!
My designated driver~~~ !! And It's Jay Chou music all the way!

Mike and I drove to Bukit Tinggi with his family. And it was really an interesting trip! Hahaha...

His brother-in-law, Alvin, AKA 车神 drove very fast, and in a flash, he was gone! Guess he must have drove at about 140km/h and above! Anyway, we happily drove along the road, keeping to below 130km/h...

while we were happily driving along the road in M'sia, suddenly we saw his brother-in-law's car... hmmm... was thinking why the passengers were all "fanning" themselves! Well, the weather was very very HOT! So we didn't think much... Then after a while, we were signaled to stop at some place, and after that, we realized the problem!!!

Alvin was chasing after a Bentley and his poor Honda cannot take it anymore and the aircon broke down! as it was really damn hot that day, they really cannot continue the journey without fixing the aircon. So we have to stop at some car repair shop to fix his car....

Hahaha... Poor lime-green honda being "forced" to chase after Bentley!!! hahaha.... But it was doing quite well, I heard it was speeding at 180km/hr at that time!!! wooohhh!!!

No wonder 小绿 cannot take it lor....

Anyway, we intended to wait for the car to be repaired, but the workshop people said that the repair's gonna take quite long.. So the rest of us proceeded to Bukit Tinggi first without Alvin...

It took us about an hour before we reached Bukit Tinggi , at around 1 pm... I have never heard about this place at all!!! HAHAHA!!! Super suaku!! =p Anyways, its kind of like a small French village type of resort... erm... that's all! It's just a resort lah... nothing much... A place to nuah and laze around!!! =) HAHA!!

Checking in~~

And another funny case happened!

After we checked in and reached the room, just when I was about to unpack my stuff, the hotel staff called us and told us that the toilet is leaking!!!

WAT??? How would they know?? This mean that they ALREADY knew about the leak but the counter staff still blur blur pass the room to us!!!

There is a leak from the ceiling...

The floor is wet!!! So no choice, we have to brought to another room, which was at Basement... No fantastic view, but its ok lah... we are not gonna stay in the room much anyway mah...

Then another funny thing happened again! The bellman who brought us to the new room forgot to pass us the room key!!! So duh!!! sigh.... So Mike had to call the reception again to request for the key... hahaha...

So funny! 3 incidents all happened within a few hours! hahahah... Mike was saying that such things always happened to him... hahaha...

Anyway, after settling in the room, we went out to roam... deciding to go catch some beers...

(See? I got LONG legs!! Muahahahha!!!)

The sky is getting dark... time for dinner!!!!

Before dinner, we hang out at one of the friends' room... having beers!!!

The "bookie" in action! We decided to pool money to buy 4D! Of cos must buy 车神 car plate numbers! Heard he had to spend abt RM1500 on the car repair.. wah.... its quite a high price to pay to chase after that Bentley! hahah.. =)

Of cos we didn't win lah... hahahah!!!

As usual, we are beer-ing and snacking before dinner!!!

After a night at Bukit Tinggi, we made our way to Genting... On the way, we stopped by Strawberry farm....

Cute, right?? She got very nice big eyes!!!

My first time seeing the art of "hand carving"... Heard it was very popular last time when it was launched. They even have stalls in SG at some pasar malam... Hmmm... But I never heard nor see this before leh!!!

Anyway, after spending about an hour at the Strawberry farm, we made our way to Genting... Checking into First World Hotel... Shah and the rest of the gang went to buy more beers and food.. So Mike and me check into the hotel first....

Hmmm... I was very surprised to see that the check-in counter was like.... CROWDED!!! It looked like some big hospital, with so many people waiting for their turn to check in, with those "numbers" flashing at the counters... Such scenes looked so much like either in hospital or in banks!!!

Anyway, lucky that Mike's sis helped us to check in already, we just need to go to the shortest counter to pick up key.... Heng arh!!!!

When we checked into the room, the room was quite neat... We bumped into Shah and the gang and we helped to take 2 cartons of beer and stout to the room... Guess it's gonna be a BEER nighttt!!~~ :)

Both me and Mike were given RM100 each to play at Genting casino... part of the promotion... Quite cool! Although I had no interest at all on gambling, but guess it is a good way to spend the weekend.... Anyway I have not been to Genting for many years...

Mike won some money (See his yaya-papaya look below!) and he decided to treat me cocktails!! YEAH!! 至少你有良心!! Hahha!

It was really a good relaxing and lazy Sunday... After the Casino, I made my way to KL to find P. Cos I'm going to Bali with P!!! =) I have not been to Bali before and was very excited!

I kept those maps that we had in Bali, thinkg that I should put them on my blog... Cos we had some very good adventure trips on our mini-scooter.... but ... as usual.... I was such a clumsy gal!I stupidly spilled water on my desk, and thus, all my books and things were wet, including the maps! So too bad, I cannot show here where exactly we had scootered to...

P had some recommended places to go, giving by his colleagues... Like Mt Kintamani, the volcano place... and Tanah Lot, Seminyak, Kuta, the lalang place (cannot rem the name... hahah) and of course the party place, called Paddy's....

Ok, with that itinerary, we rented a scooter on the 2nd day and tried to make our way to Kintamani... Oh man, it was such a fun and scary ride! Everyone on the road was like... rushing and squeezing in-out of traffic...

P was such a good rider!!! I felt very safe with him actually... :)

Anyway, we lost of ways a few times... And I felt like I was in the "Amazing Race"!! We had to stop and ask directions from people along the road... And it was weird that there were riders who will voluntarily talk to us when we were stopping at the traffic lights, offering to guide us to our destination with a minimal charge!!! HAHAHAH!!! It was quite clear that we were tourists (I held the map with my hand) and that we looked lost!!! OF cos we did not follow these people!!! Who knows where they were going to guide us to??!!! So after a while, I decided to keep my map out of sight!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! :)

Above is the "lalang" place... or the rice paddy fields... it was nice... =)

And along the way, we realized that the climate was getting colder and colder... Strange right??? Bali should be hot!! I was wearing shorts and tube top! WAHAHAH!!! Then we realized that we were climbing up the mountain!!! Yup!! So duh!!! Mount Kintamani! this means that it is at the mountain!!!! That means that the weather is gonna be COLD!!!!

So funny!! Both of us were not prepared for the cold weather! P was only wearing a T-shirt and berms... He was soooo COLD!! Cos he was scootering in front, with all the cold winds blowing his way!! At least I can hide behind him (although my legs were freezing!!! But my body can stay warm as I am behind him!)

So after trying to tolerate the coldness, we reached a place where they sell things to tourists... And after we asked for directions, we decided that P needed a sweater to stay warm, if not I don't think we can get to the top!

See? That is the sweater that we bought! 100K rupiah! hahha... The lady was asking for 150K rupiah! But we bargained!!!

Lucky we bought the sweater, cos we finally managed to find the place! It was nice view!!!

(Above is a stupid photo of me with the rented helmet... My scalp grew some pimples cos this helmet was obviously not very cleaned... But anyway, it kept me safe!! :)

It was a good day! After Kintamani, we rode back to our hotel and decided to go for a massage!!! It was a long ride (we started around 1 pm till 9pm...) and we saw some cheap massage parlour just outside our hotel... We went there and although it was quite noisy (the place was undergoing some reno), the massage was ok!

After the massage, we decided to go partying at Paddy's!

But...........

We were disappointed as the place turned out to be those beach bum bars, with many rowdy young people and old people and hookers and blah blah blah... Not the kind of bars that I would like... Maybe if I were a bit younger, I might be ok to stay for the night... But... nah, not my type of party place!!!

So both me and P went away and started to search for other places to party... Unfortunately, the road was very bad!!!! It was a one-way street, and taxis just stopped in the middle of the street to wait for business while the rest of the cars had to wait and jammed up behind!! Wat kind of logic is this!!??? And the cars behind all quietly wait behind... How can that happen???? At first I thought there was traffic jams, or accidents, etc... Then after a while we saw that the terrible jams were all because taxis were stopping to wait for business....

DAmn!!! I was wearing high-heels!! So no choice, we stopped the cab and decided to walk to find a place for a drink. Finally we managed to stop at a bar, which looked decent enough... There was barely anyone inside the bar!! But its ok, we were tired after a day's of scootering...

So we ended the night with my martini and beer... =)

The next day, we decided to go scootering again! This time round, we want to explore Seminyak and see the sunset at Tanah Lot! But a small incident happened in the morning!

P couldn't find his sunglasses!!! That was his favourite!!! hmmmm.... He was very forgetful! He always forget his room keys, forget things, etc... hahaha... Then we suspected that maybe he left it at the massage place! So we walked across the street to the massage place and heng arh!!! He really left it there!!! :)

Since we are already across the road, we went to have lunch at the spa hotel near the massage parlour... Quite nice food and cheaper than our hotel, of cos!!!

The burgers look like we can feed a whole army!!!!

Anyway, after lunch, we went to the scooter rental shop again to rent a scooter... But unfortunately, that nice scooter that we had the previous day was gone... :(

And they did not have any more scooters left for us.... sad!!! Then, after while, that scooter shop lady shouted at someone, a young chap at the next store... Apparently she was asking him if he could rent us his scooter! Woo... his own private scooter!!! I wonder who will allow strangers to ride their scooters!!!

But apparently he is OK!!! YESH! But he needed it back before 10pm... Well, we tried to go other shops but too bad, all shops were either closed or no scooters left... So we took that scooter and have to remind ourselves to come back before 10pm... :)

We were more familiar with the road this time round... I think we skipped some places and arrived at Seminyak, which were the place where rich expats lived... There were bigger bungalows and nicer places there... But the roads were bad!!! I was wondering... if people have money to buy nice bungalows, why can't they spend some money on the roads??? The roads were bumpy and rough!!!

Anyway, we finally made our way to Tanah Lot!!

The sun was setting.... It was nice...

It was too sunny for me, so i hid behind some walls.. hahahah... P loved to face the strong sunlight!!!

Anyway, we decided to leave before the sunset, cos it would be difficult for P to ride on the road when it started to get dark... Some of the people here ride very recklessly.. Some of them didn't even switch on the headlights, and it was difficult to spot them along the dark roads... It was really dangerous!!!

So we decided to head back to our hotel...

However, while we were on our way back, we drove past Kuta area, and P remembered that he saw a great Italian restaurant on the in-flight magazine, and this restaurant was in Kuta... So since we have about 3 hours before 10 pm, we decided to go to Kuta with our scooter for dinner instead... Cos we know that the road is going to be really jammed (we had a bad experience the previous night), so it might be better to travel with scooter instead as we can weave in-out of traffic...

It was really a good choice! The place (called Viva-something, cannot rem!!) was really nice, and the food was fantastic!! I was not a pasta lover, but I totally fell in love with this pasta! It was just normal tomato based pasta with Salmon, but it was so tasty that i felt sooooo happy!!! :)

Anyway, we had a great time that day, and managed to return the scooter at around 930pm... :)

The next day was our last day in Bali, so we decided not to venture out anymore and stay to enjoy the hotel facilities...

We had breakfast at the hotel, and oh man, it was sooooooooooo EXPENSIVE!!!! If I knew it was so ex, I would rather walk across the road to other place to eat... But anyway, it was good... :)

We lazed around near the pool and it was good....

That marked the end of my Bali adventure with P..... We flew back to KL, and we spent the day and night lazing around, had wine at the Library, some nice Indian food and good partying at Beach Club.

(We were at the Indian restaurant... Apparently it was quite popular!) Nice food...

After 2 nights at KL, we flew to HK on Sat morning to meet P's cousin, Hans... We had a wonderful night with Hans on Sat... I think we reached the hotel around 4 am!!

The next day, me and P decided to try the Peak... I haven't been to the Peak since 2006 (Click here to see my previous post).... At that time, the peak's observation deck was not even ready.... Now we managed to get up to the observation deck..

The weather was really so damn HOT!!!! I nearly DIED.... hahahah... So funny, I got my tan from HK and not Bali... hhah!!!

We decided to rest for the day as we have a long week... We met Hans again on Monday for lunch at the American Club... And we took a walk at Stanley Street Market... It was a good day, but too hot for me!! After Stanley Market, we needed to go back to check out and to go airport... Back to SG for me, and back to Belgium for him.... :)

It was really a fun-packed holiday for me!!!!
