CNY Tentage sales again! It's my 9th year liao!!!

Yes... It was my 9th year participating in CNY sales... Time flies...

Cute Little House of Dreams!

We need no reasons to meet for wine and dine!!!

This time, we decided to try a new cafe at Dempsey, called the Little house of Dreams. Nice cute place!! Hahaha! But too cute for us lah... =p

Jas has a bottle of wine from The French Cellar and we can bring this bottle of wine to a list of participating partner's restaurants and will get corkage waived! This is such a great benefit!

I also bought 2 bottles from TFC before and I used 1 bottle at Glasshouse last year Aug to celebration my fren's birthday (Click here to see my post).

We decided to order a few dishes to share cos we didn't want to eat too much. The food were not bad, but not super fantastic too. And the service was quite lousy... Well, the place was quite empty, I have no idea why the service staffs were sooo nuah!!! Sigh...

Fat Bird! A new place at s'goon gardens!

I was craving for soju...

And was wandering at S'goon gardens trying to find a place to eat and drink soju. Then we walked past this new outlet. I have not seen this outlet before though... Oh, so this is a 串烧 place! Such concept was very popular in China... Lot's of such skewer places! And since we have no where else to go, let's go try this! And as it was a Tue, there is a promo: 1 skewer for $1! Wow!! Good deal, right??

Of cos my main objective is to drink soju lah... Hahaha :p

The place had very cute interior design!! All about chicken!!!

We thought can order any skewer for $1 each... But actually the T&C is that we must order 1 type of skewer and a min. order of 5 skewers per type! So it means that we need to eat 5 skewers of the same kind. So since we are not super hungry, we order only 2 types. So total 10 skewers!

The meat was nice though... Not that bad!

And we were also treated a free dish! They wanted us to taste this dish and give feedback. This dish was surprising super tasty!!! I want to go back there to eat this!!! I donno what this is though... hahaha!

Decided to take some photos.. And when the waitress saw us taking photos, they pass me a cute chicken, apparently should be their mascot! hahah so funny!!!

And after dinner, we walked over to Happy Daze for our fries and continue to have more drinks! :) Yeah!!! 我就爱吃吃喝喝!!!

We decided to buy 2 bottles of soju, cos the deal is so much better than buying 1. Yeah! So we ended up with 2 bottles of soju and I bring back 1 bottle to keep. :)

It's a great night of soju OD!!! :p

XO fish head bee hoon!

Ariel told us there was a super famous and nice XO fish head bee hoon near our church and we decided to go there to try!

So me, Ariel, Jaz and Shianny met on a saturday evening to try the food. It was really nice!!!

After dinner, we went for coffee and dessert in Holland V... 

It's a nice catch up session with the ladies!!!

My NYE quiet celebrations at Starker...

Since I am not going overseas this year-end, I spent my NYE at Starkers, with the great band and the company of my fren!

I am also quite sad to think that I might be moving away from this neighbourhood soon. I have gotten used and familiar with this area though... Maybe perhaps I shld find somewhere near here too? hmm...

Happy new year peeps!!! It's yet another new year again! What a year 2018... Lot's of happenings and memories... Somehow it was a not-too-bad year as I was given the chance to have good rest. I had many chances to take a break and rest from work and life.

God is good to me, as always!

When I rest, He works!!! I will always remember this! :)

I hope for the same for 2019! More great years with Him!!!

I had a very odd year-end... :(

Well, where do I even start?

A few months back, I was still happily researching where to go for our annual girlie year-end trip (click HERE)...

And we confirmed the trip: SG-Krabi-Koh Samui-SG. That is, all 4 of us will fly to Krabi on 29 Dec. Then Qian and Ade will both fly back to SG on 1 Jan cos they have other appts. Then Gine and I were supposed to continue our holiday and fly from Krabi to KSM and back to SG on 5 Jan. Sound like a great plan!!! So happy that I do not need to fly long distance this year-end and I was looking forward to bringing out my Lom-Gilli and donut floats again! Yeah!!!

However, around Nov, Gine's bro fell ill and she had to cancel her Beijing trip. At that time, I was worried she might not be able to make it for our year-end trip. If she can't make it, luckily we haven't booked the hotel in KSM yet. So I can just go with Qian and Ade, and then buy a 1-Jan return flight ticket to fly back with both of them. I will only forfeit the flight to KSM.

But luckily, Gine's bro got well and so we continue to plan for our trip and booked our KSM hotels. Cost us more than $500.

And somehow.... something bizarre happened just a few days before our trip.

A volcano collapsed and created tsunami at Indonesia on 23 Dec. Actually I didn't know much abt this, until Lilian told me to be careful for my trip. Then I mistaken and thought there was tsunami warning during this period. So I texted the ladies to ask them if they knew anything. And then.... It happened.

Suddenly Gine and Ade wanted to cancel the trip.

HUH?

WHAT???



REALLY?????




What happened?

I didn't realise the seriousness and thought they were just suggesting. So I started frantically researching the tsunani reports and realised it is not tsunami lah... It is just suay that a volcano collapsed and created a big wave that look like Tsunami lor. Most tsunami is caused by Earthquakes and so far, there was no warnings on earthquakes for Thailand. So there is no need for any alarm.

But somehow, the 2 ladies are fixed on not going.

It would be weird for me and Qian to go ourselves cos the feeling will be strange cos we were abandoned by our frens! And we didn't travel together before, so it might be quite awkward under those circumstances.

And if we cancel now, I will forfeit quite a lot, about $1000!!! Sigh... No wonder my star sign says that I will have 钱财之灾.

But that's not what I am upset about...

I cannot understand why this is happening. Somehow I don't think it is just becos the gals are scared of Tsunami. But I donno why we had to cancel the trip.

This is my first time missing a flight or cancelling a trip just a day before the trip. I can't get used to it and felt very upset and betrayed.

I am so lost and donno what to do...

I didn't plan for this at all. :(

Anyway, I will go back to work and take my mind off this bizarre situation. Don't think I would want to be reminded of this cancelled trip anymore.

Well, it was also quite lucky that we didn't go... The monsoon was quite bad in KSM and if we were there, we will also be quite stranded... So it was quite fortunate that we didn't go. And luckily, Gine managed to get back our hotel booking amount and also Bangkok Air is also ok for us to cancel flight. We only need to pay cancellation fee. So actually our damage is only for AirAsia and Krabi hotel fare. So it is not that bad lah... :)

Anyway, Happy New Year to myself!!!

Xmas gathering with Betsy and Jas! And their daughters!! :)

Okay... I have been rather lazy in posting my blog cos I have been using IG more often now...

Haha! Anyway I went for the Xmas gathering at Korean BBQ restaurant with Betsy and Jasmine, together with their daughters... Charmian love Korean BBQ!! So we went to this restaurant at Shaw centre. This place apparently is very popular... Had to reserve in advance and cannot be late wor...

And true enough, the place was always quite packed! The table turns were quite fast too... Ppl come, eat and go! And another group come, eat and go! Wow!!! The table beside us already turned 2 times!! Wow! We were the only slow ones. hahahah :p

Lots and lots of meat!!!

After BBQ dinner, we went for dessert at Ippudo.

And of cos, it is exchanging presents time!! Yeah!!!
