Gelato-ing with Nan

I grew fatter cos Im taking the pills to regulate my skin... So I had to change my wardrobe. sigh... So that weekend, I went out with Nan to go shopping for xmas gifts and bigger sized clothes (sobs)...

I didn't know there was a gelato store at Marina Square! Apparently this was newly opened... So me and Nan decided to go try out...

The gelato was nice. I had the green tea gelato while Nan had the chocolate almond I think. But it was too sweet for me so eventually I had to order a cuppucino and didn't finish my gelato... This was a huge portion for a "small" size!!! :)

It was a good Sat afternoon with Nan and was happy that both of us got our xmas presents settled! :)

Grew fatter... Sobs

It is a fact that I had grew fatter and will continue to put on weight! But its a good sacrifice for good skin, so I have decided to continue for a few months before I stopped.

Anyway, I needed to buy new bigger sized dress since most of my dresses are too small now...

This dress is nice right?? Totally love this dress from BeBe.. But then... this dress is too OTT... so not practical to buy and it is expensive too. Cost more than S$300!!! Wah!!! So too bad. I decided to take a photo and not buy it! hahahah!!! Cheapskate!!!

Underwent a terrible assessment test in KL

I was picked to go for a "assessment" test in KL, organized by my company...

I have no idea what this whole thing is about... But before we went there, we were asked to complete 2 online tests first. One test was personality test, and this was quite easy. But the other one was "numerical" test, where it was quite similar to "GMAT" format. It was soooo difficult and we have to complete 25 questions within 18 min! It was totally impossible! I basically "hantam" the answers for at least 6 of the questions! Sigh... I guess i sure fail this test!

And when we reached KL, we were shocked to realize that there were 4 tests awaiting us!

Test 1: Behavioural Event Interview
A tester will ask me a series of questions pertaining to some events and I have to answer based on personal experiences. This is to test our capability to handle certain situations and also to identify which situations that we have been through, so that they can determine our level of expertise and area of capability.

Test 2: Case study and have to present to a panel of Board Directors
This is the worst among all the tests! I was given a case study and I was supposed to be the MD of the company in the case. I was supposed to use the flipchart to do a presentation to a panel of 2 Board Directors to address "my company" situations and how to save the business. I was only given 90mins to do all this! Sigh... And the "board directors" were given instructions to "grill" us and be very mean. This is to test my ability to handle difficult questions and situations.

I nearly died! I was sooo pissed off with one the directors cos she is making things very difficult for me! I knew my presentation was not good, but this is cos I have no knowledge of the airline industry and was too tired that day.

Test 3: Market Visit to a designated location and do a presentation to the management.
I went for a market visit with a Malaysian colleague and I had to study the executions and the market there. I was lucky. The guy brought me to Bukit Bintang, which is the Tourism place in KL. And after that, I had to work on the presentation deck till 1 am in the morning!!! sigh....

Test 4: Role play on a Direct report appraisal
A tester will pose as my direct report and I had to conduct the appraisal with him. Of cos he will be very difficult to handle. But I think i did well cos since it is role play, I might as well fake a few scenes myself so that the tester had no choice but to play along with me! HAhahahaha! I was lucky to have a rather nice tester for this round. :)

So that is the 4 gruelling tests that I had to go through from 930am to 330pm.... It was very tiring... And all the while I was supposed to stay within a room, which they had re-decorated to be like a interview room.

This room was sooo scary! I was so nervous in the room while waiting for the testers to arrive for each of the test... Sigh....

Luckily I survived!!! YEAH!!! :)

Prive at Keppel Marina

When Prive was opened in 2007, this place used to be the "to-be-seen" place and it received a lot of attention... I always wanted to go take a look but I didn't find the time nor friends to go with me...

This evening, I decided to check out the place with Mic... And both of us google the place and drove there despite the rain... :)

It didn't occur to me that Prive was inside Keppel Marina... Anyway it was a bit disappointing cos the place look very normal and just another small cafe... No big deal.. But perhaps cos it was raining and it was already 9pm and dark when we reached.. and that there was a portion of the place being blocked by someone's 40th birthday, so maybe we could not see the best of the place.

I ordered BBQ Chicken open sandwich while Mic ordered the Chilli Crab linguine... Both dishes were OKOK, but the price were quite high...

Anyway, the atmosphere was good and I think I might like to go there again maybe during breakfast time or evening time when it was not so dark and I can enjoy the sea view with nice yachts. :)

Shopping for TOYS in Toy'srus!

It is so difficult to buy children toys... All toys look the same to me!! hahaha... Every time my niece and nephew came to visit, my parents will be searching for new toys so as to pamper the kids...

Anyway, I just remembered that we have not been to Toysrus, the largest toy store in Singapore! So today I brought my Mummy to go take a look....

We went to United Square branch (actually wanted to go Vivo branch, but it started to rain heavily and there were just too many cars on the road)... The selection at this store was OK and there were many people too!

We bought a few toys after walking around... Kids were just so clever nowadays! There were many kids who were so good with toys! While we were staring at some toys, wondering what is the toys, there was a young kid who explained to us how the toy worked! hahaha! :)

Anyway, we settled for "Captain America" for Roy and a nice Barbie for Valerie!

After buying the toys, me and mummy went to look for food! It has been quite a while since I had lunch with mummy... :)

Know what? Actually when I was young, I totally loved Barbie, but i was poor, so my mummy cannot afford to buy me one. So she used to make me rag dolls and buy those cheap dolls which I don't like...

And when I grew up and can afford it, it never occur to me to touch Barbie again.... And today, after I bought it, I just cannot resist the temptation to play with it first! hahahaha!!!!  Her shoes were sooo difficult to wear!! :) But Barbie really has very good figure... hmmm... how I wish to be like her!! :(

Anyway, I have also bought 3 more sets of clothes for her and think that it would be rude for me to open that... So I will wait for Valerie to come and play together! :)

yak yak yak!!!!

2011 Xmas lightings & new Wine Bros

Time flies so fast!!! I still remembered posting the pictures of 2010's xmas lightings along Orchard road, which they looked like Spermies!!! Remember??? :)

This year is better of cos... But I think they looked quite simple... Well, i guess it is better not to spend too much money on such decor since the economy is not looking good...

To end the night, we decided to go search for wine and Mic recalled that there was a new Wine Bros somewhere in S'goon! Strange cos I lived there and I never heard nor see any Wine bros here lor... Anyway, while we were searching for the new place, we saw a van with a cute "My Melody" sticker! So funny! Such a macho car and then got this cute sticker at the back!!! :)

Anyway, we finally found our wine place! And guess what??? It was just opposite my house!!!! It was sooooo strange! That stretch was all private residential and it was very quiet! How would anyone want to set up a wine shop there!?

And true enough, the place was empty, except for 2 customers. hahahah... Anyway, just nice for us since both of us were not fans of noise...

The wine was good, as usual. :)

Good tat I found such a place near my house so that next time if I'm bored, I can drop by to have a drink!!! :)

A musuem trip @RWS

As per my previous post, me and Mic went to take a look at the maritime museum after catching the fanta mascots at RWS.

The entrance screening was very nice and scary! hahah! The "lion head" can move!! I think it is called the "pi xiu" for the ship, protecting the ship from storm, I think...

There were a lot of exhibits from different states, where Zheng He went to collect and exchange with the locals...
See how tall the camel is!!??!

Fooling around while waiting for the Typhoon theatre to start...

We were supposed to watch a short intro film before proceeding into the theatre.

Inside the theatre, the pictures were in 3D and during the show, there is instances where water splashed into the "ship"... So all in all, this is considered 4D!

The show was barely like 5 min I think... A bit short but good experience...

After we came out of the theatre, we saw the fanta mascots again! They were allowed to roam into the museum. So cute!!! :)

After this trip to RWS, me and Mic went dinner at HRC and then went to take a look at the XMAS 2011 lightings... See next post! :)

Fanta mascot at RWS!

Today I brought Mic along to catch the fanta mascots at RWS last weekend... It was raining initially but luckily the rain stopped just in time for the mascots to appear... :)

After catching the mascots, we went to take a look at the Maritime musuem and took the Typhoon theatre ride... This museum was quite nice actually, just that I felt it was a bit too small. But overall it was good... :)

Scotts Centre.. a new place...

Went to meet Betsy for lunch and she suggested checking out the new shopping mall at Scotts road.. This building used to be a nice place (I cannot remember the name of the mall previously). I remembered shopping there when i was young! :)

Anyway, the building haven't opened yet, but there are some stores having soft opening.

We walked around and seemed like there is only one cafe opened. This cafe is called "Delicious". This cafe just opened a few days ago!!! hahah... And it was empty except for one table.

My iced mocha... Tasted ok... I am the first customer trying their iced mocha!!!

My spaghetti! And I was the first one to try their spaghetti too! hahah!

But the spaghetti was not good. :(
Don't think I will go back to this cafe again though.

perfect margaritas! :)

New slippies!

Hahaha... my mummie bought me a new cute slippies!!! Seem like am like a small kid in her eyes!

So cute!!!

Serious about Spanish

It seems like I am the only person in the class that have no prior knowledge on Spanish related stuff like culture, etc. My classmates all have some basic Spanish and thus they are all very fast! The teacher speaks very fast and it seems like everyone understand her.

I totally clueless about what she is talking about 60% of the time... sigh... guess its time for me to chase and buck up.. So yesterday, I purposely make a trip to Kinokuniya and bought a few Spanish self-study books! See? I am really serious!!! OK!

This language is quite difficult but at least most of the words are quite near to "English".. so I think im able to progress faster.... :)

Painful dental session... :(

sigh... we all know that making a trip to the dentist require tremendous courage and also a bit of stupidity...

Well, it happened that I have both traits and the next moment I knew, I found myself at the dental clinic today... Oh well, while i was waiting for my turn, many times I wanted to just come up with an excuse and just bolt for the door... but... "stupidity" overcome me, and I stay put on my seat and 乖乖的wait for my turn to go to HELL.

And sure enough, I cannot remember that dental cleaning can be THAT painful! I was basically squirming, gasping, "trying to scream with mouth ply wide open"... apparently my gum condition has deteriorated badly and one of my fillings has chipped. what tough luck!!! :(

The re-fillings nearly killed me, but what "killed-ed" me was the deep cleaning into the gums part that totally made me felt like a crazy woman.. hahaha... the dentist was trying to clean my teeth and gums and I was screaming, moving and dodging his "weapon"... many times he had to stop and tell me to stop moving around so that he would not hurt my lips and tongue accidentally... but it was sooo damn painful that my body reflex that way... sigh... it was such a long tearful process! I think it took abt 45min... it was the longest and painful-est 45 min that I ever had!!!

And I had to go back again in another 3 months time...

hmmmm.... I think i would still go... cos i am stupid with blind courage... :(

Catch up with Gorgeous Gine!

It has been quite some time since I met my JC gal frens.. I was updating my blog the other day and was looking at the blog where I went to Qianjie's Wedding and also the Feb's lunch with the gals at Wah Lok.

Hmmmm.. Since today is lazy Sunday and I had been lazing at home for the whole of Saturday, I decided to pull myself out of bed and meet Gine for drinks... Well... It is not difficult to think of a place cos today is Sunday and we do not have to worry about crowds... And since I have not been to One Fullerton for many years, and for no reasons, I suddenly thought of the place and both of us arranged to meet there...

I was there early, so I decided to have a walk while waiting for Gine.

There were many tourists! Of cos! They were there for the famous MERLION! This is like.. "if you have not seen the Merlion, it is as though you have not been to Singapore!" hahha... It's really that exaggerating! This is a really "must-see-must-come" place in Singapore!

Oh man... I remembered clearly the last time I brought my Japanese pen-pal here to see the Merlion, and he got so excited that he wanted to climb up the "waves" and touch and take photo. And since it was late at night and there were too many people, we decided to let him "sneak" onto the "waves" and he really did!!! And of cos the security guard caught sight of him and immediately screamed at him to get off! But of cos, we had already taken the precious photo! I think he must be the first person to sneak past the security guard and climbed up the stone waves and touch the Merlion up-close! hahahah!!

Anyway, Gine came and at first, we wanted to check out Customs House.. But when we walked there, the place was not opened (or maybe that place not supposed to be opened on Sundays! Or PH).. Anyway, feeling disappointed, we settled at Overeasy. The view from this place was great! We can see MBS clearly from there!

I enjoyed the frozen margaritas too.. Delicious!!!

Luckily I came out and not waste my time sleeping at home... I was glad to catch up with Gine.. We were frens since JC times, 17 years old... oh man... it has been 17 years!!!

Anyway, this was quite a nice way to end a lazy Sunday! :)
