And he is gone... (22 May 1944 - 8 June 2013)
Although I have always expected that my dad will leave us (sooner or later), but I didn't expect it to be... Now.
And it was bizzare... The last that I spoke to him was to ask him to tell Mummy to help take the keys on the door. Cos I was rushing out for my IELTS in the morning and I was a bit late. So I rushed out of my room and as usual, my dad was at the door, trying to breathe.
so I quickly opened the door and left the key on the door, and I turned to my dad and tell him to ask mum to come take the keys. And he said ok!
And then I rushed out. It was around 750am, I think.
I didn't expect that I will never see him again after that.
I heard from my mum that he had went downstairs for a wheelchair "spin" (as usual) and when he came upstairs, he felt weak and breathless (which was as usual). Then he told mum that he think he is dying (which he usually says, so my mum didn't take it seriously). And then he said he wanted to clear his bowel. So my mum let him sit at the toilet seat.
After clearing the bowels, he walked to his chair and felt giddy. Then he fainted (which was not the first time). Mum and bro tried to wake him up, but this time, he didn't wake up. For around 15mins of calling, they decided to call ambulance. When the paramedics came, they thought that there was already no pulse. But one lady thought that she felt a bit of air from his nose, so to be safe, they decided to bring him to the A&E at TTSH.
And it was at TTSH that the doctor pronounced him gone.
My mum told us that she had a feeling that he was already gone at home. It was around 10plus am.
Well... We are glad that he has found his Way back home. Somewhere he longs to go, peacefully.
I was blessed to have very good siblings. My bro and sis were the ones who helped to stay through the night. They knew I am very sleepy so for the past 2 nights, I am lucky to be able to sleep from 3am till morning. Was very touched... :)
After 2 days of wake, my dad was cremated in Mandai crematory.
And then, everything was over. Tomorrow we will be at the Mandai place again to collect the ash and to bring to the All Saints Home. I will be having my last test section - Speaking module. So I will not be there to see the bones picking, but I know my dad understand! He always felt that such ceremony was silly and I know he would not want me to miss my last module. And anyway I will rush over to All Saints Home after my test. :)
And thanks to all my frens (Steven, Jas, Betsy, Lilian, Nan and Kermit) for the great condolences and pretty flowers. Really appreciate all your support.

May is OVER!!! and fun photos from 1993!!!
This month has whipped by so fast that I cannot believe it! :(
Anyway, in summary, this month was good for me, some ups and downs, but overall still manageable. :) Been hanging out with friends and also have good balance of quiet times at home.
Found some interesting photos of me when I was really young!
Don't faint!!!!
LOL!!
When I was in Uni, needed a passport photo to apply for hostel. This was me at 1997.
See how flawless my face was! There was no pigmentation nor scars!!
And below is when I was sending out resumes to find a job.. This was end 1998. I was about to graduate in 1999, so I had to quickly look for a job!
So funny!
And I was looking through old photos and think it is great to put them in chronological order! From the "youngest" to oldest! See how we grew up!!!
This was 1993, when we were in Sec 4... I think... :)
There after, there were not many JC photos (I didn't keep any and at that time, 2 yrs JC was too rushed and all 3 of us didn't have time to keep in touch).
Before we went Uni, all of us did some part-time jobs while waiting for admission into the U. I remembered I was working in Cathay Organisation that year, 1996 Mar-Jun.
When we went Uni, we catched up again and on-off we have some gatherings..
Below is 1998, I think... Cos we were still in Uni... Kermit was performing some ballroom dancing and me and Nan went to support!!! Alamak! See how "dark" I was! sigh...
And after we graduated, we didn't really catch up that often and taking photos were not the "in" thing that time.
The next photo of all 3 of us celebrating Kermit's upcoming wedding.. I still have a few of these new neo-prints... I remembered this was taken in 2004, when I was with Carlsberg... I had some free vouchers for O-bar at mohd sultan, so I asked Nan and Kermit to go with me. In the end, we ended up at Far East plaza and took this neo-print to cele Kermit's upcoming wedding! This was soooo funny when Nan was trying to decor the photo and wrote "omedetou" and put all kinds of clip art (see Kermit's mickey-mouse visual on her head???) and later we thought it looked weird and decided to delete all the pictures but too late! In the end, there was a "Mickey-mouse" on Kermit's head and the word "Omedetou"... LOL!!! Good memories!
And then we were at Kermit's ROM, 2004...
Then, 4 years later... something unfortunate happened to Kermit's marriage and all 3 of us decided to go for a get-away in Batam! It was sometime in 2008.... Nan found a super good deal for 1 night stay at Batam View Villa, with dinner included! It was sooooo cool!
And in 2009 Nov, we decided to go for a long trip together! Our first long trip out!
And in-between, we did have some catch-ups but there were no photos of all 3 of us. Usually the photos were only showing just 2 of us cos the other person need to be the one taking the photo.
Below is 2012, at Scruffy murphy last night.
We need to take some photos together, but this time, we must have a fixed position so that we can document the changes! hahaha! It would be funny!!!

Dolce gusto... nice!
My bro Steven gave me a Dolce gusto (he won it in a lucky draw)... I put it in my office and bought the capsules... :)

Waffles dinner!
Suddenly had a craving for dessert... Was thinking about the rainbow cakes... Have not tried those yet... And then bren was suggesting waffles! Hmmm... actually waffles sounded not bad! So let's go!!
Bren googled for the best waffles in town and we chanced upon this new cafe in Chinatown. It looked really new and the place was nice and quiet. If not for the google, I think I would never have noticed this cafe on the 2nd floor of the conservation house.
We ordered banana and chocolate waffles for all of us to share. Mic and Annie ordered main courses: Pasta and breakfast set. The food was not bad! I also ordered a basket of fries!
It's a really big dinner!
We decided to go have a drink along club street. But too bad, as this is Sunday, most of the places were closed. So we decided to call it a day and go back....
On our way back to my car, I saw this place "Korner" and think this place was cool. I shall check this place out next time!
It's the last week of May... Time really past by real fast. :(

Othello - Shakespeare in the Park!
This is our 2nd time watching Shakespeares in the Park... The first one was Macbeth in 2011... How time flies!
Anyway this show is much better than Macbeth, in terms of staging, props and the actors/actresses.... I really enjoyed this show. Although my bum still hurt!! Hahaha!
Was waiting for Nan (she was stuck in bad traffic jams!) to bring me up to her office to chill the bottle of wine... In order to prepare myself for the heat later (it is an outdoor event!), I decided to treat myself to a bowl of ice Kacang! Yummy! It has been quite a while since I last ate this dessert. Sinful, but Yummy!!! :)
Finally Nan came and we went up her office to prepare for our dinner and picnic bags... It was soooo excited! She had proper wine glasses! I thought we were going to make-do with paper cups... :) Yeah! I'm sure we were gonna have a good experience!
OMG! the place was soooo packed! I am sure this was more packed than Macbeth...
Thereafter, me and HY decided to go for supper! SINFUL!!! But oh well, it's Saturday! We should enjoy yourself once in a while! :)
HY said her face looked very big, that's cos she was eating her Subway sandwich (mouth full of bread~)... OK! So let's take another photo! Hahaha!
hmmmm.... any difference??? Hahhaa!!! :p
Anyways, I really enjoyed myself. Even though I'm supposed to be in Paris that night, oh wells, I guess everything has its reason. There must be some good reason why I can't go Paris... :(
I'm looking forward to the Aug trip... :)

Betsy's 38 birthday bash!
Yes, once again its our Aunty Betsy's birthday... And as she said, this year is very symbolic cos it is "38"! Hahaha!!! Yeah, really suited her! heehee! :p
Anyway she chose to go Tampopo, a very nice Japanese restaurant. I liked it too, although I had only been there once (with Mic and Sinwei, like many years ago!)...
They ordered some sashimi and a Shabu-shabu set. Looked yummy!!! I ordered a normal Ramen and it was delicious! But the Katsu was really too tough for me to bite. Think next time i will come here again for the Ramen but not the Katsu!
A very nice Shochu, recommended by the staff. Good choice!!!
And we had to try the "must-try" orange dessert, where it was always "unavailable" on the menu. We just have to ask and the staff will reserve for us!
It was a good dinner catch up and soooooo nice to see both of them again!!!
After the dinner, we went for Foot massage along Jalan sultan... My feet were so sore and after massage, as usual, my feet kena crammed!!!
But then... It was still a very nice gathering!! :) Looking forward to our Paris trip! We must really make it this time!!!!!
